Motorsport-Dorna to organise MotoGP and World Superbikes

Reuters - LONDON, Oct 3 (Reuters) - MotoGP and the World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK) will be run by a single organiser, European private equity firm Bridgepoint said in a statement on Tuesday. Dorna Sports, which organises MotoGP, will now also take responsibility for WorldSBK from Infront Sports & Media. Local media reports in Britain said Bridgepoint, which holds stakes in both Spain-based Dorna and Switzerland-based Infront, had instigated the move. ... Full Story

Mike McQueary, Penn State University assistant football coach on leave, exits the Courthouse after testifying in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse trial in Bellefonte(Reuters) - A key witness in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal sued Pennsylvania State University on Tuesday for more than $8 million on whistleblower, defamation and misrepresentation grounds. Mike McQueary, a former Penn State assistant football coach, claimed in the suit filed in Center County Court that he lost his job, was misled and publicly scorned because he had told about one of the attacks. Sandusky, a retired Penn State football defensive coordinator, was convicted in June on 45 counts of child molestation in a case that riveted national attention on child sexual abuse. ...

Reuters - KINGSTON, Jamaica (Reuters) - Two Jamaican athletes, including 4x400 metres relay pool member Dominique Blake, are facing disciplinary action after testing positive for doping. A preliminary hearing began in Kingston, Jamaica, on Tuesday for Blake and national 800 metres champion Ricardo Cunningham over doping violations returned by the pair at Jamaica's Senior Championships in June. Cunningham, who trains with the MVP track Club in Jamaica, appeared in person at the hearing while Blake, who previously served a nine-month ban, sent a representative.
