Entertainer Flavor Flav arrested in Las Vegas police booking photograph(Reuters) - Rap star Flavor Flav of the group Public Enemy was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and battery after his fiancée reported the pair had a fight, Las Vegas police said. The 53-year-old rap star, whose given name is William Drayton Jr, also threatened the woman's teenage son with a knife, police said in a statement. A new smartphone app being used in Finland allows reporting of nuisance crimes with a few clicks, and its developer has started to pitch its service to police services around Europe. The company, Grafetee, on Thursday globally launched its free location-based tagging application for Apple and Google Android devices. LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Los Angeles County's tax assessor was arrested on Wednesday and charged with accepting bribes from a consultant whose clients he allegedly aided by slashing their property values to save them millions of dollars in taxes, prosecutors said. Assessor John Noguez, who went on leave in June after it was revealed he was under investigation, was led out of his house in handcuffs by investigators with the local District Attorney's Office. ...

The arrest of Eric Prokopi, 38, of Gainesville, Florida, comes amid an international custody battle over a Tyrannosaurus bataar skeleton seized by the U.S. government shortly after it was auctioned in Manhattan in May for $1.05 million.
